There were a few things that would bring someone to the Hunting Grounds. Perhaps it was to hunt for people, hunt for targets and bounties. And for others? They either lived here at one point, or they came here for certain herbs and spices. And it was for that very reason that a certain human woman was here and walking around the area. Looking for herbs that she felt she needed so that she could bring them back to the castle where she was living with her daughter and a number of other people. She felt that if she could get some of them she could help the people there. Either with the herbs being used for cooking, or healing, or whatever else they could be used for. It all depended on what herbs she could find. Though she knew that this place could be rather dangerous, and it was. But she wanted to get the herbs, and then hopefully get out before anything too terrible could happen. Though at the same time, she was completely calm and relaxed. Probably because of the fact that she had lived here in this area for a while, or in an area like this, but still.
Another thing that made this odd, was that it was quiet for the most part. As if everything was sleeping, or at the very least in hiding and not wanting to be noticed. And as she was getting closer to some of the herbs, she overheard something that shattered that silence. It sounded like something akin to a fight? Or at the very least a struggle, and thus she felt that she should go to look it over, to check it to see if something was going on, but at the same time she knew that it was a little dangerous simply because of where this was and because of what the sounds could result in, but it wasn't in her nature to ignore something like this, not when someone could be in need or be hurt. Though her thoughts were roaming from place to place, and rather quickly as well because this could mean anything. Though when she was getting closer she would keep herself out of sight while still hearing what was going on, and it seemed that she heard and stumbled upon a slaver doing their "work" of choice. And that caused her to watch because the person that was making all the noise was being dragged into a building.
She would wait, wait until she saw the person that was doing the dragging to leave. And then she would wait for a little bit longer to make sure that it was quiet and there was no one else around that would be part of their group. When she was sure that was the case? She would make her way to the building. The building was in shambles of course, broken windows, parts of the sides breaking or outright missing, but it wasn't really the building she was interested in. After looking it over a bit she would go into the place and then she would look around, letting her eyes adjust before she would make her way down into the basement as that's where she had heard most of the noise coming from and sure enough, when she get down there she saw something that disgusted her. There were a good number of people in the place. Some were bound and gagged, and others had blindfolds on and they were already a bit broken and bloody, but not to the point where they couldn't move or realize that someone had come down into the basement with them. However, they also noticed that there wasn't any yelling or anything else.
Of course, she would slowly start to get people free from the bindings and everything else, she was going to help these people, get them out of the place and get them to safety. And the way she saw it? It was only her so she could get them out and get away before there was any trouble to be found or had. However, she knew that she had people that she could count on to help, but she didn't want to go bother them with something like this, she thought she could handle it all on her own, and when she was getting people free she would tell them to get out of the place, to get out of the basement and up to the outside and then to spread out and hide, maybe even get to another area that they could be safe and everything else. And this was going over rather well for the most part. But that was until she got to a few of the younger people. They started to scream and yell because they thought she was going to do something to them.
However, before she could really get them free and everything the captors made their return. This would cause her to tense up for a moment, but then she would move to be between the younger people, and the captors that had come back. Then? The captors started to yell at her, yelling curses and things that she couldn't really make out at the moment because she was more concerned about the fact of keeping the younger people safe. But before anything else could happen, she felt sharp pains from getting kicked in the gut and chest area which caused her to crumple down to the ground, and then she would get dragged out to the outside of the building again, where they were continue to yell and shout at her, but she would only keep silent, which resulted in more kicking and hitting, and at this point she was coughing up blood and everything trying to keep herself awake, though she could hear them getting more and more angry saying that she messed up their plans and that they would need to spend hours upon hours to get everyone back "...Be that as it may...They're...free...to live their lives...away from your grip...Not like cattle...Not like...objects..."
And that was when they kicked her hard enough to cause her senses to dull just a little bit. The words were being muffled a bit and things were moving slower and yet her eyes were following everything that was going on, and it was then that she could see that they went to get the last few that she wasn't able to get free, the younger people. She would slowly force herself to her feet, to which she got grabbed and forced to face the younger people. The captors said that they were going to force her to watch. Watch as they killed them, one by one and she knew. She knew that she was going to be next at the end. That's just the way all of this went really. So watching them get the blade ready she would struggle and force herself free, only to get between the captors and the younger innocents, feeling the blade go through her and the point stopping just shy of the younger people. She could feel the burning pain from the wound, she could feel the blood that was coming from the wound, even see it dripping from the blade, but that didn't cause her to stop. In fact? She grabbed the blade to where it couldn't be pulled free and watched as the young innocents fled to their freedom.
It was then that she lost the strength to hold the blade in place anymore. And once it was pulled from her body? They would kick her to the ground, more shouting and yelling was in the air, but she couldn't make it out, things were already starting to go dark, sounds becoming just distant things that she couldn't focus on or make out. But as she lay there, bleeding out she had thoughts. Thoughts that she felt she needed to get out, even if she were the only one to hear them. "I'm sorry En...I won't be able...to make it to your wedding...But I couldn't just let these poor people get hurt and used. I hope you can forgive your foolish mother...Tor...I hope you can find something that truly makes you happy...Look after your sister...Okay? I...guess I didn't get to say goodbye to...Mister...Birdman either...That's...truly a shame..." And as those thoughts came to an end? Everything went black. And there, on the ground...She would bleed out, death coming to claim her as she lay a pool of her own blood, due to her actions of trying to help people that she could have just ignored. But that just wasn't the way she was. She made the choice to help them and she saw it through to the end...
